A Chock Full Lot 4 - Location
I didn’t go skiing today, but we did go for a nice stroll in the afternoon freezing rain. Actually by the time we got back, it wasn’t freezing anymore, but it was still liquid precipitation.
As you can see by this picture of the biggest and usually the last filled packing lot, it was a pretty busy day. I wondered what they did next, but I heard that they managed to squeeze by with filling spots vacated by folks leaving early, presumably disenchanted season pass holders. It sounds like things were pretty heavy and cruddy up on the mountain, with at least some upside down conditions, where heavier snow sits on top of lighter stuff. An object lesson perhaps in the futility of chasing yesterday’s powder.
A special raspberry for the loader operator who chose to turn around in my driveway before I had cleared the snow. It is annoying enough to have normal vehicles compact the snow into snowblower defying glacial ridges at the end of the driveway, but come on now, you have that big snow clearing bucket that you could have used first. Grrrr.
At 15:50 it is 1 C at the house, with light percipitation of indeterminant phase.
