Polar Peak Chair, Yet Again - Location

There has been lots of cement truck and helicopter work here as they presumably try and get the concrete work for the new Polar Peak chair done before the snow arrives. I have thus been avoiding the new side of the mountain, but things looked pretty quiet today, so I snuck up to White Pass for a quick look at what was going on.

It appears most of the concrete work is now done, although I think there may be a bit more to do. Just after I took this picture, the overcast cleared enough, now and again, that they managed to get a helicopter flying stuff up to the peak as well as bringing other material, which I would guess to be used forms, down. I only saw it from afar though as I got out of Dodge before any real action started.

It did look quite white up here a couple of days ago and while it has melted now, higher peaks are still snow covered. It isn’t quite time to start waxing the boards, but snowy peaks certainly turn the mind to thoughts of sliding. However if one was working up on that peak, I can’t imagine early snow would be a welcome thought.
